The LaVale Civic Improvement Association is responsible for:
- Hearing and addressing concerns of LaVale residents and acting as a link to the county government
- Acting as an agent with the county "Open Space Program" to obtain grants, and/or funding, for community improvement projects
- Planning and Scheduling the "Annual LaVale Sidewalk Clean Sweep Day"
- Maintenance of the 10 memorial benches along National Highway
- Assisting In the maintenance of the Braddock Run Watershed Association's Native Plant Garden at Helman Drive
- Maintaining the two "Welcome to LaVale" signs and area around them
The LaVale Civic Improvement Association will continue to:
- Maintain this Website
- Provide donations, as needed, to various community service organizations
- Provide funding and /or materials, as needed, to assist groups who maintain the community parks
- Maintain a Post Office Box
- Handle the record keeping of all Insurance Policies, Tax Documents and Audits and keep them up to date
- Obtain and provide information regarding events of interest or of possible impact to the LaVale community
- Hold monthly meetings March to November of each year, open to all members of the LaVale community
